Executive Vice President office

The Executive Vice-President assists and reports to the President in all academic and administrative matters. H/She   acts as Deputy Head of the College, takes care of the day to day operations of the College, and represents the College in the absence of the President.

Powers and Duties of the Executive Vice-President, among others, include:

• advises and assists the President in the exercise of his/her powers and duties;
• ensures proper enrolment of students;
• avows students’ academic record keeping on permanent registration materials and proper procedures;
• ensures timely preparation of registration materials, procedures, and services;
• plans, organizes, and directs library collection development and services;
• ensures the eligibility of academic staff for teaching in the undergraduate, graduate and TVET programmes;
• ensures that the institution prepares high quality graduates;
• follows up and ensures the proper implementation of courses offered in accordance with the academic calendar of the College;
• ensures that the academic staff members are engaged in research activities and preparation of teaching materials;
• ensures that all examinations are at standard level and prepared timely;
• leads and coordinates the faculty/school deans and standing/ad-hoc committees under his/her span of responsibility;
• evaluates the performance of the college/faculty/institute/school deans and other staff under the span of his/her control and reports the results to the president;
• ensures the planned staff promotion policy establishment and implementation;
• facilitates programme development, operations, review and evaluation;
• ensures correct interpretation of the academic rules and regulations and adjudicates appeals and exceptions;
• ensures an effective implementation of quality assurance system and academic resources development; and
• performs other duties as assigned by the President and Academic Commission.
