Duration: 2 years for Regular and Extension Programs
Credit hours required completing: 36 Credit hours for both regular and extension programs (with 30 credit hours of course work and thesis equivalent to 6 credit hours).

The M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance enables the graduate to contribute to the country’s economic development and democratization process by exerting their expertise at the highest degree of professionalism required in the fieldThe professionals who graduated in this program can work in higher learning and research institutions and private and government organizations where accounting, reporting, and finance, tax and investment experts are required to be trained at higher qualification levels.

3.     Graduate Profile

Graduates from the Masters of Science degree in Accounting and Finance program are expected to assume functional responsibilities in any sector (service giving, manufacturing and merchandising business enterprises, governmental and other Not-Profit (NFP) organizations.) where accountability and transparency are needed. After completing the program, graduates will be able to:

      Analyze and report financial statements for local and international stakeholders,

      Analysis, design    and      install  financial/non-financial systems (manual or computerized),

      Design and run a modern system of cost accounting that would enable organizations to determine and control the costs of their goods and services,

      Analyze and design short-term and long-term investment projects for all types of organizations,

      Perform advanced treasury, portfolio and  Investment management systems,

      Design and run effective internal control systems,

      Develop and implement business strategy and corporate plan,

      Prepare tax return,

      Identify and analyze auditing and finance related problems and research for pragmatic solutions, and

      Design financial forecasting, trend and performance analysis

4.     Our Uniqueness

Having technical and domain-specific knowledge is not the only criterion that joins the labour market for students and to survive in today’s corporate culture for business firms. A career in finance and accounting entails having a repertoire of soft skills or interpersonal abilities for meaningful communication with your colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders. Our program challenges students to improve their leadership, communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills through group work. Thus, our College will provide training on communication and leadership skills, customer handling and software packages such as Peachtree, E-views and STATA. Furthermore, we organize tutorial programs on Graduate Admission Test, GAT, to applicants who need this support.
