Student Support Office

The Student Support Service Office was established in accordance with the requirement of the Education and Training Authority (ETA), the Legisltation of the College, and Five Year strategic Plan of the College to support students in the three pillars (i.e., Excellence in teaching, Excellence in research and Excellence in community service) of Higher Education Institution into consideration. The Officer reports to the Executive Vice-President. Following, among others, are major duties of the Office.

·       acts, monitors and mobilizes the works of faculty/school deans concerning the activities of students’, alumni, and social affairs;

·       plans, coordinates, and monitors such students’ services as guidance, counselling, sports, recreation, health, etc.;

·       provides counselling services on individual and group basis in all academic and social matters;

·       ensures that students’ discipline is in line with the code of conduct of the College;

·       organizes, coordinates, and monitors students’ extracurricular activities;

·       makes sure that orientation programmes for new entries are conducted;

·       plays active role in organizing graduation ceremonies in collaboration with the Registrar’s and Programme Office and graduation committee;

·       establishes and strengthens alumni and other clubs like sports, art, excursion, anti-HIV, theatre, etc.;

·       organizes the celebration of the College day;

·       organizes and coordinates sports activities so as to bring the College community together;

·       Prepares annual plans and quarterly reports and presents the same to the Academic Vice President; and

·       performs other additional duties given by the Senate, the College President, and the Executive
Vice-President.
