AIC  Library

Background

The mission of AIC Library is to foster intellectual growth, academic success, and lifelong learning for the students and staff of the College. Thus, it serves as a center for collecting, processing, storing and distributing information and knowledge resources both in print and electronic formats. As one of our knowledge center, libraries enhance the teaching-learning process, research, and public service and meet the goals of the College by providing up-to-date information. The College has three libraries located on different Campuses. Two graduate and undergraduate libraries are at Piasa Tewdros Adebaby and the Main Library at Gurd Shola main campus. The following main types of library services

  • Circulation service.
  • Loan service
  • Multi-media service
  • Internet service
  • Reference service
  • Documentation service

The Library strives to accomplish the following major tasks:

  • Work toward ensuring that plans and targets of the College are fulfilled;
  • Plan, administer and safeguard the print and electronic materials of the University;
  • Ensure the smooth running of the library service in line with the aims and objectives of the Colleges.
  • Develop and manage collections;
  • Identify and provide learning resources to instructors, researchers, and students;
  • Manage available resources efficiently and economically;
  • Establish a conducive study environment which caters to the interests of library users;
  • Train staff members and other library users to develop their information service skills for efficient and effective utilization of information resources;
  • Carry out appropriate development work in the Library to improve the Library’s multi-purpose services;
  • Maintain effective links with domestic and international educational institutions and
  • Work towards continuous growth and development of the University.
