 Andinet International College held its Eighth Monthly Seminar today, November 14, 2024, successfully. The topic,“Peace Education for Peace Building in Contemporary Ethiopia” very timely and pressing, was presented by Mr. Yeshiwas Mulugeta, Chief Registrar, AIC. The session was moderated by Dr. Demewoz Admsu, President, AIC.

The presenter brought into light how crucial peacebuilding in our country and elsewhere in the world is. He made the presentation so inspiring by conveying practical and contemporary situations, and the working mechanism to resolve peace problems. He displayed the existence of both negative and positive peace in our day to day lives. One of the major recommendations he made was peace education to be given to young citizens, incorporated in the curriculum at the national level, in additional to everybody’s responsibility for peace education and peacebuilding.

The session sparked lively discussion with constructive comments and questions. All attendees were interested to share experiences and drew lessons on this vital global and national issue. The participants highlighted the roles of indigenous conflict resolution mechanisms to play in our country, in addition to the responsibilities of government institutions. All participants promised to contribute to peace prevalence in the world and in our country. At the end, a closing remark was made by Mr. Temesgen Enyew, Dean, Undergraduate Program, with his brief reflection on the value of peace building practice that should begin in awork place, as well. The College is committed to provide a similar platform for scholars and young students with an aim of updating them with various national and global pressing ideas.
